Right after a teaser of Zopo’s Z smartwatch appeared on social media, another Chinese company Huawei, has shown a teaser of what could be a minimalist, elegant smartwatch in one of their recent tweets. The watch will be called Honor Band Zero.
#Honor’s smart wearable device that embodies a minamalistic design, that’s #HonorBandZero. #HuaweiFacts
The tweet came when Huawei launched the Honor 7 smartphone. They also revealed the new Honor Whistle Bluetooth headset. The Honor Band Zero will be the first wearable by Honor, Huawei’s sub-brand.
The company hasn’t divulged any details about the features. The watch seems to have a brushed bezel around and is expected to be IP68 certified i.e. dustproof and water-resistant.
The Band Zero will come in black, beige, and white, and, according to rumors, will also feature a sleep tracker and a pedometer. Since the tweet says a “smart wearable device” instead of a smartwatch, we can expect to see a fitness-focused timepiece.
There aren’t any details about pricing or launch date either, though IFA 215 – scheduled to begin in Berlin during the first week of September – sounds like the ideal time for the launch.
