While Samsung is working on their Samsung Gear S2 smartwatch, the rival LG hasn’t been sitting idle. They’re working on a smartwatch that could feature the highest-resolution display, but is this a spec that could really make the smartwatch a must-have gadget? Well, that’s a question the buyers should consider.
Phandroid has picked up a tip that suggests that LG’s codenamed Nemo smartwatch will feature a 480×480 pixel display. That might not be ridiculously amazing by smartphone’s standards, but that’s surely insane for a smartwatch. Considering it has a 1.3 –inch display, this turns out to be 400ppi density, now compare this with 240ppi of LG G Watch Urbane’s. That means it will be readable in all sorts of lighting conditions, or no matter what sort of eyes you have.
But again, we hope that the watch will have some other powerful features as well, because only a crisp screen might not be enough to beat the likes of Apple Watch, and other upcoming Gear-based watches.
