After Audi, Mercedes, BMW, Porsche, Volvo and other carmakers, Ford has also hinted at releasing the extension of their MyFord Mobile app for Android Wear smartwatches.
The app will have the usual features: check driving range, view battery charge for plug-in hybrid or electric cars, start the car, track where you last parked, lock/unlock doors and even get stats on how well you’re driving.
Ford Going Smart with MyFord App
The app sounds like a piece of a large puzzle: the American automaker is trying to re-label itself as a mobility company and not just a vehicle manufacturer. Let’s not forget that company established their Silicon Valley research lab in January and has already released apps for smartphones. Ford is surely on the right track with all these apps, considering smart technology and connectivity are now being considered important factors in customers’ purchasing choices.
