Smartwatches have created a lot of hype recently. If you’re interested in buying a smartwatch or fitness tracking band and want to know which one is preferred by others, this post has the answer.
Jeeq Data LLC, a new online service, tracks the top selling products in different categories at different online retailers. Recently, they have tracked the bestselling smartwatches and activity/fitness trackers on Best Buy for the month of April. The result of their research is shown in the graph below:
Interestingly, Samsung – even after being quiet for nearly six months – grabbed the lion’s share with 33.94% of these sales, with Fitbit, Motorola and Microsoft following behind. The Pebble smartwatch could only secure the fifth spot with just 9.39% of the total sales. This is most probably because of Pebble’s new offerings i.e. the Pebble Time and the Pebble Time Steel.
The surveying firm also divulged that Fitbit was the steady performer on a daily basis, while Samsung smartwatches were mostly sold towards the start and the end of the month.
This is an interesting presentation, however, the chart might not depict the whole, true picture about the bestselling smartwatches because the data was collected from only one retailer and during one month.
