We knew that the smartwatch is codenamed Orbis, we knew that it will have a round face with a rotating bezel, but now we know quite a few other details about Samsung’s upcoming smartwatch, that will officially be called the Samsung Gear A.
Expected to be released at an upcoming Galaxy Note 5 announcement, the watch will have a Samsung-made Exynos processor, 4GB of storage space and 768mb of RAM. It’ll also be packed with sensors including a barometer, heart rate sensor, a Wi-Fi chip and most importantly an onboard GPS. Oh, and it will run Tizen instead of Android Wear.
We don’t know why Samsung is so keen on making Tizen relevant, and what good news it will bring, but the bad news is that it will most probably run with only a handful of Samsung smartphones. Among a few still-missing details are the price of the watch and exact release date.
